Wastewater systems nationwide face common challenges:
Regulators, customers, and environmental groups all look to utilities to reduce sewer overflows (SSOs), help our waterways improve to meet Clean Water Act requirements, and provide reliable, responsible wastewater service. KUB, like many other wastewater utilities, is under a federal Consent Decree to reduce SSOs.
PACE 10 helps KUB reduce SSOs and support responsible growth. It includes rehabilitation, replacement, and wet-weather wastewater storage. KUB also focuses on refined operations and maintenance programs to meet our goals.
SSOs are only part of the problem our waterways face, however, and eliminating them is only part of the solution. We all need to work together to be a part of the pollution solution.
