Paving Contractor PreQualification Program
Bid Description KUB's Procurement Department has developed a Paving Contractor Prequalification Program that will include all paving contractors. Any contractor that wishes to bid on and perform paving work for KUB will be required to participate in the new Prequalification Program. As a result of this new program, KUB is now accepting pre-qualification applications for paving contractors who would like to bid on KUB paving projects. We anticipate consolidating 3-4 municipal street patching and paving projects during the course of a year. The paving will be installed in accordance with The City of Knoxville paving standards or other standards as defined in bid documents. Bids for these projects will not be accepted unless you have completed this new process, and have received an acceptable pre-qualification score. There are two main components to the new Paving Contractor Pre-Qualification Program. The first component consists of three sections (A, B, & C) that require general company information and essential financial, bonding, license, insurance, safety, and legal information. If all required information is not submitted, the pre-qualification process cannot be completed. Upon review of the first component by KUB, your company will be contacted regarding results. The second component of the Paving Contractor Pre-Qualification Program is the contractor project references portion (Section D). This section requires the contractor to submit three references, and will include KUB construction (or other municipal paving) project(s) that the contractor has worked on within the last three years. Each reference will be contacted and will earn a score based on reference’s response to KUB’s questionnaire. The contractor’s pre-qualification score will be an average of the submitted project reference scores. Prequalification forms may be printed from the link below, and submitted via email to KUB’s Procurement Department at kubprequal@kub.org.
