Pole Inspections
KUB conducts routine inspections of utility poles throughout its electric distribution system each year. Crews evaluate the condition of each pole to determine if the pole is in need of maintenance work or replacement. Routine inspections help extend the life of utility poles while cutting down on replacement costs.
These inspections may involve boring holes to inspect the inner core of the pole and digging a shallow trench around the pole to inspect its condition below ground. Care is taken to clean up after each inspection. This work does not require any interruption of your electrical service, and crews will not need to enter your home.
