Energy Conservation and Efficiency

According to the Union of Concerned Scientists, 70 percent of the electricity generated in the United States comes from coal, natural gas, and oil. While energy generators are pursuing cleaner technologies, reducing the amount of electricity you use is good for your budget and for our region's air quality.

Conserving energy is as easy as turning off lights and appliances when they're not in use. Or, you can switch to high efficiency products such as Energy Star appliances and fluorescent lighting.

For more information on reducing your consumption and saving money, see Money Saving Tips. You can also participate in the Green Power Switch program, which generates Green Power to be shared by TVA customers in the Tennessee Valley.
