Green Switch Match FAQs
Green Switch Match allows KUB electric customers to reduce their carbon footprint by purchasing renewable energy equivalent to each month's energy usage for 1 cent per kilowatt hour used. For the typical residential KUB customer, participation in Green Switch Match can help reduce a customer’s carbon footprint by more than 8,000 lbs of CO2 emissions per year.
How much can I expect to pay each month to participate in Green Switch Match?
Green Switch Match will add an additional 1 cent per kilowatt hour to your KUB bill each month.
KUB's typical residential electric customer uses 1,000 kilowatt hours each month, so the typical customer would pay approximately $10 each month to participate in Green Switch Match.
How can I calculate what I would pay?
To get an idea of how much Green Switch Match would add to your monthly bill:
1. Find the number of kilowatt hours you used on a recent bill.
For bills received through September 2020, this information can be found on the front side of your bill here:
For bills received October 2020 and after, this information can be found on the back side of your bill here:
2. Multiply that number by 0.01. For example, if your bill says you used 1,478 kWh, the math would be: 1,478 X 0.01 = 14.78
In this example, Green Switch Match participants would see an additional $14.78 on this month's bill.
How will my Green Switch Match charge show up on my bill?

How does my participation in Green Switch Match support renewable energy generation?
With Green Switch Match, we make it easy to reduce your impact and support solar energy. Participation in the program lowers your carbon footprint with nothing to install or maintain at your home. Each month, you purchase renewable energy equivalent to your usage for 1 cent per kilowatt hour used, and the power is added to the grid on your behalf.
