Utility Service Agreement
Submission of this request for utility services from the Knoxville Utilities Board (KUB) binds
the recipient to conform and be subject to all current KUB rules and regulations (which are subject to
change).  The recipient agrees to receive and pay for all services consumed or reserved for use when
bills are rendered in accordance with the rates of KUB in effect at the time the service is rendered.  KUB
reserves  the right to secure accounts in default of payment of services rendered.  Additionally, all legal
and collection expenses including, but not limited to, principal and interest become the liability of the  
recipient

Meter Access Message
Utility meters are the sole property of KUB. As a customer of KUB's utility service, you are
responsible for providing KUB employees and/or contractors free and clear access to the meter
at any time for the purpose of reading, maintaining, or inspecting the meter.

Schedule of Connection Charges
A connection charge will be included on your first bill. The amount will be determined by the date of  
the start and the service started.

Schedule of Potential Deposits for Residential Customers
KUB verifies identity and determines deposit requirements by processing and energy credit check via
Experian This credit check provides KUB with your score, but does not affect your credit rating or  
credit history. Based upon your score, a deposit of $300.00 may be required.

Paperless Billing Option
You can choose to view your bill online rather than receiving a paper bill. Simply go to www.kub.org to
sign up for this option. You will receive an email notification each month when your bill is available,
Once you have registered to the website, you may also be interested in the Levelized Billing Plan that
allows you to pay an average amount each month based on the previous 12 month history.

Round It Up Program
KUB automatically enrolls customers in Round It Up to provide funds to help low-income families weatherize their homes, which in turn cuts energy costs. Round It Up is a voluntary program, and you can choose not to participate at any time. To cancel your participation, go to the Billing Options page on www.kub.org and uncheck the "Enrolled" box in the Round It Up section, or call 865-524-2911.
 

Round It Up is authorized by Tennessee Public Chapter No. 508, subdivision (e)(1), which reads as follows:
"ln addition to the authority granted under otherwise applicable law, a municipality operating an electric plant may, acting through the authorization of the board or supervisory body having responsibility for the municipal electric plant, accept and distribute excess receipts for bona fide economic development or community assistance purposes pursuant to programs approved by the board or supervisory body, which programs may include, but are not limited to, programs in which utility bills aie rounded up to the next dollar when the amount of any excess receipt due to rounding is shown as a separate line on the utility bill."
