Tree Pruning Map Help
Please note the following information about this map:
- Portions of the KUB circuits being pre-planned and pruned are listed to the left of the map.
- Some circuits on KUB's system will be pre-planned by contract utility foresters.
- Foresters will mark trees scheduled for pruning in the utility maintenance zone with blue paint.
- Trees and brush less than six inches in diameter that appear to be wild-growing or unmaintained will be marked with orange paint for removal within the utility maintenance zone and around poles and guy wires.
- If you have landscaped tall-growing vegetation in the utility maintenance zone, please contact KUB or the contract forester in advance of the work to discuss options.
- Foresters will attempt door-to-door notification during pre-planning. If you are not at home, a yellow door hanger will be left indicating the type of work required and who to contact if you have questions.
- Customers in the affected areas will receive a letter from KUB before pre-planning or pruning activities. If you have a phone number listed on your account, KUB will also include you on an automated call list.
- Due to factors such as the amount vegetation work required from circuit to circuit, and the impacts of weather on scheduling, there is no set time frame between when an area is pre-planned and the when pruning begins.
- Pruning work will take place in the near future after an area has been pre-planned.
- Crews will place a Tree Pruning Notice door hanger on all properties that require pruning approximately one week before work begins.
- Please note that it may take several weeks after pruning starts in your area for crews to reach your property.
- If you have any questions or want to know when your area is scheduled for pruning, contact our Vegetation Management hotline at (865) 558-6658, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. - 9 p.m., or by e-mail at trees@kub.org. Customers with utility emergencies or other needs after hours should call (865) 524-2911.
- If your community would like a presentation before pruning starts, please contact us using the information above.
